SEO in Dubai costs between AED 1,500 and AED 15,000 per month in 2026, and the spread is not random. The bottom of that range buys automated reports and a few blog posts; the top buys an agency team working on a national brand. For most Dubai service businesses the useful range is AED 2,500 to AED 7,000 per month with a freelance SEO specialist, or AED 5,000 to AED 12,000 with an agency, and the difference is mostly overhead rather than results. Below is what each price level actually includes, what changes the quote, and how to tell whether you are paying for work or for a retainer.
SEO pricing in Dubai in 2026: the four price levels
These are the ranges I see when prospects show me the proposals they have received, and the ranges I quote myself. Prices are monthly unless stated and exclude VAT.
- AED 1,000 to AED 2,000 per month (budget packages): usually offshore teams or tools-driven resellers. You get a monthly ranking report, a handful of directory submissions and one or two generic articles. Little or no technical work, no local SEO. Rankings rarely move for competitive Dubai keywords.
- AED 2,500 to AED 7,000 per month (freelance SEO specialist): one senior person doing the work directly. Technical audit and fixes, on-page optimisation of the pages that matter, local SEO and Google Business Profile, two to four pieces of content per month, link outreach and a monthly call. This is the level I work at.
- AED 5,000 to AED 12,000 per month (mid-size agency): an account manager plus a shared team of specialists. Similar scope to a freelancer, sometimes with more content volume, but a portion of the fee pays for the account manager, the office and the sales team.
- AED 12,000 to AED 40,000+ per month (enterprise agency): for marketplaces, developers with dozens of projects, banks and national retailers. Dedicated teams, PR-led link building and large content programmes.
Project-based pricing also exists: a one-off technical SEO audit and fix runs AED 3,000 to AED 8,000, a local SEO setup (Google Business Profile, citations, location pages) AED 2,500 to AED 6,000, and a content strategy with the first batch of articles AED 4,000 to AED 10,000.
What is actually included at AED 2,500 to AED 7,000 per month
A monthly SEO fee should buy hours of real work, not a dashboard. Here is what a month looks like in a campaign I run at this level, so you can compare it with any proposal in front of you.
- Month 1 (foundation): full technical audit, Search Console and GA4 setup, fixing crawl errors, redirects, speed and indexing, keyword research split into English and Arabic, and a page-by-page plan of what to rewrite or create.
- Months 2 to 3 (on-page and local): rewriting the service pages, titles and meta descriptions, adding schema, building or fixing location pages, optimising the Google Business Profile and the first citations, and publishing the first supporting articles.
- Months 4 to 6 (authority): two to four articles per month aimed at questions your customers ask, outreach for links from UAE directories, partners and press, review strategy, and conversion fixes on the pages that now get traffic.
- Every month: a short report showing rankings, clicks, enquiries and what was done, plus a 30-minute call. If you cannot name what was done last month, you are paying for a retainer, not for SEO.
Seven things that change the quote
- Competition on your keywords. “Dentist in Dubai Marina” and “real estate agency Dubai” sit at opposite ends of the difficulty scale. The more established the page-one competitors, the more content and links it takes to displace them.
- Technical condition of the site. A clean WordPress site needs a week of fixes. A six-year-old site with three themes of leftover plugins, broken redirects and thin duplicate pages needs a month before SEO can start.
- Number of locations and languages. Each location (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah) needs its own page and Google Business Profile work. Arabic doubles the keyword research and content effort.
- Content volume. Two articles a month costs less than eight. Volume matters less than hitting the right questions, so I would rather publish two good answers than eight generic posts.
- Link building ambition. Directory citations are cheap. Earning mentions on UAE business press and partner sites takes outreach time and sometimes paid placements, which you should always approve separately.
- Who writes the content. If your team can supply drafts or expert input, the fee drops. If everything is researched and written from scratch, it rises.
- Reporting and meetings. Weekly calls and custom dashboards cost agency time. A monthly report and one call is enough for most businesses.
Freelancer vs agency vs in-house: cost per hour of real work
The cleanest way to compare SEO quotes is to ask how many hours of a senior specialist each fee buys. A freelance SEO specialist at AED 4,000 per month who spends 25 to 30 hours on your account is costing you roughly AED 140 per hour of senior work. An agency at AED 8,000 per month whose junior executive spends 20 hours on your account, with a senior reviewing for two, is costing you about AED 360 per hour, and most of those hours are not senior. An in-house SEO manager in Dubai costs AED 12,000 to AED 20,000 per month plus visa, tools and benefits, which only makes sense once SEO is a core channel with content and development teams around it.
Agencies make sense when you need volume (dozens of pages a month) or multi-market coordination. Freelancers make sense when you want one experienced person accountable for results and you are paying for execution rather than overhead. I covered the full decision in digital marketing agencies in Dubai vs a freelancer.
What results to expect for your money
Any proposal that guarantees position one is a red flag; Google does not sell rankings and neither can an SEO. What you can reasonably expect from a properly run campaign at AED 2,500 to AED 7,000 per month:
- Weeks 4 to 8: technical issues fixed, indexing cleaned up, Google Business Profile ranking for brand and some local terms.
- Months 3 to 6: service pages on page one for lower-competition and long-tail keywords, map pack visibility for your area, measurable enquiries from organic search.
- Months 6 to 12: page one for the main competitive keywords, organic enquiries that rival or exceed paid campaigns, and a cost per lead that keeps falling because the pages keep working after the fee is paid.
For a clinic or a service business, the break-even point is usually one to three extra clients per month. Work out your average customer value and the maths is simple.
Hidden costs to budget for
- Tools: most freelancers and agencies include their own licences. If you are asked to buy Ahrefs or Semrush yourself, budget AED 400 to AED 500 per month.
- Development: speed fixes, template changes or a theme rebuild may need a developer if your SEO does not also build sites. I do, which is why I quote both together.
- Paid links and sponsored placements: AED 300 to AED 2,000 each on UAE sites. Only pay for ones you have seen and approved.
- Content in Arabic: native writing and review adds 30 to 50% to content costs.
- Hosting: a slow shared host undermines everything. Decent UAE or European hosting is AED 50 to AED 150 per month.
How to check an SEO proposal in ten minutes
- Ask for the list of deliverables for month one, in hours. Vague words like “optimisation” and “monitoring” are not deliverables.
- Ask who does the work and how many clients they handle. A freelancer should name themselves; an agency should name the person on your account.
- Ask for two clients in your industry with before-and-after Search Console screenshots, not a rankings PDF.
- Run the free SEO audit tools on their own website. An SEO whose own site is slow or unindexed is telling you something.
- Check the contract length. Three months is a fair minimum to show progress; twelve-month lock-ins protect the vendor, not you.
- Ask what happens to the content and accounts if you leave. Everything should be in your name.
What I charge and what you get
As a freelance SEO specialist in Dubai I quote a fixed monthly fee between AED 2,500 and AED 7,000 after a free audit, depending on competition, locations and content volume. Every month includes technical work, on-page optimisation, local SEO, content, outreach and a report that lists exactly what was done. There is no long-term contract, and because I also run Google Ads and build websites, the SEO plan is designed around the pages and enquiries that make you money, not around rankings for their own sake. If you want to know what SEO would cost for your site specifically, send me the URL and I will reply with a fixed quote and the first month’s plan.

Frequently asked questions
How much does SEO cost per month in Dubai?
Most Dubai businesses pay AED 2,500 to AED 7,000 per month for a freelance SEO specialist and AED 5,000 to AED 12,000 for an agency. Budget packages under AED 2,000 rarely include technical or local SEO work, and enterprise programmes start at AED 12,000.
How much does a one-off SEO audit cost in Dubai?
A technical SEO audit with fixes costs AED 3,000 to AED 8,000 depending on the size of the site. A free audit summary is often offered before a monthly engagement; a paid audit should come with a prioritised fix list, not just a report.
Is cheap SEO worth it?
Packages under AED 1,500 per month typically deliver automated reports, directory submissions and generic articles. They rarely move rankings for competitive Dubai keywords and can create thin or duplicate content you later have to remove. Paying for fewer hours of senior work beats paying for volume.
How long before SEO pays for itself?
Local and technical fixes show results in 4 to 8 weeks; competitive keywords take 3 to 6 months. For most service businesses one to three additional customers per month covers the fee, which usually happens between month three and month six.
Should I pay for SEO or Google Ads first?
If you need leads this month, start with Google Ads and build SEO alongside it. SEO compounds: the pages keep producing enquiries after the fee is paid, so over 12 months it is usually the cheaper channel per lead.
Does SEO in Arabic cost more?
Yes. Arabic keyword research, right-to-left page work and native content writing add roughly 30 to 50% to the content part of a campaign. The upside is far less competition on Arabic searches in the UAE.
What should an SEO report include?
The work completed that month, rankings for the agreed keywords, organic clicks and impressions from Search Console, enquiries or sales attributed to organic traffic, and the plan for next month. A rankings-only PDF is not a report.
